A bid set is a compiled, but unfinished, set of drawings that you can show the builder or contractor to get an estimate. It’s like a preview of the design plans; it’s not a full set of plans but enough information so the builder can give you a quote for the price of the home addition or remodel project.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A BID SET?

A bid set consists of many different drawings and details for your home addition or remodel. Those drawings include things like elevations (2d views of the front, back and sides of the home), floor plans, and roof plans.
WHAT IS THE COST OF A BID SET?

Every project is different! It depends on the changes to the home and how long the design portion of the project is. At Jewkes Design the cost of a bid set goes toward your custom home remodel or addition if you decide to move forward with the design which would be 50% of the project.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It can take 3-4 weeks to get a custom home remodel or addition set of plans ready for bidding.
THE BIDING PROCESS

When you have a set of designs, like a bid set, builders and contractors can then look at the drawings and place bids on how much they can do the home addition or remodel for.
